about

Ekkolodd's "...og du ga avstanden navn" (english: "...and you named the distance") follow up their norwegian radio hit "Enveisglass" with even bigger rooms, smashing drums and fragile norwegian vocals bathed in silky smooth echoes. The rhythm is upbeat and intricate enough for a "swimgaze"-sound to keep you interested without overdoing it. Arrangement-wise, this song offers clever layers of chords and soundscapes.

Also featured is electrofunk-act Foreground Set's epic interpretation of "Enveisglass", as well as trip-hop master Baukhol's atmospheric touch to "Hubur". Combine their production skills with Kim Morken's splendid vocals, and the glue makes "avstanden" seem like an excellent multi-genre debut single. It all makes huge promises for future Ekkolodd sounds.
